Strange. It's a wired controller, not just a wireless one plugged in, right? There's some settings for controllers on steam somewhere, maybe have a look in there. Yeah im using a wired official Xbox 360 controller, i havnt checked those settings tho so ill give it a look appreciate it

2 Answers. The controller has to be compatible. You can't use just any USB controller. An example of a controller that works on both the XBox 360 and the PC is the MadCatz Xbox 360 FPS Pro. The controller must be XInput and must meet the XBox requirements to work.
Replies (1) . Currently, the only way for you to turn off the Xbox 360 Wireless controller is when you're playing a game with "Games for Windows Live" enabled. From there, you can turn it off by pressing the Guide button on your controller. You can also use the suggested solution by Pety on this link where he uses an application that could help 3Pcon.
