Ilove my accord. However, I have to admit some of the issues with the 03 accord drive me up the wall (terrible brakes, terrible rotors, dead Radio, Rusted window pillar, etc etc) The general consensus is that the 7th gen accord was a big step down for Honda. Myprevious owned cars are , 2005 Honda Accords, all were super reliable, especially the engine. I'm looking at 8th gen Accord and 8th gen Civic. After some research, I was surprised that both 8th gen Accord and Civic have series engine issues. For Accord, VTC & oil consumption; For Civic, cracked engine block.
